Don’t get too excited, my lovely vegans but…I have a simple bread recipe for you to try.
Why? Well the simple answer is because fresh bread is amazing! Also because this is easy and you can have fresh bread whenever you want it. And making this particular bread recipe at home is cheaper than the any loaf you can get at the grocery store or bakery.
And if you’re like me, making bread was just something I always wanted to learn but between the kneading and my tiny European kitchen, it was more effort than it was worth. At least that’s what I thought until Cos found a no-knead recipe that changed the game.

We’ve made this particular recipe twice so far, one exactly as the recipe states and the next one we made two loaves, one with kalamata olives and the other with fresh rosemary. They came out very well and I’m excited to share it with you!
Kitchen Tools:
*Mixing bowl
*Silicon baking mat
*Measuring cup
Ingredients:
*250g Whole wheat flour
*6g Active dry yeast
*275g Warm water (room temperature)
*5g Salt
*10g Brown sugar
Instructions:
*In a large mixing bowl add lukewarm water and yeast until dissolved.
*Add sugar (optional but recommended) and let sit for 15 minutes.
*Add in half of the flour slowly and gently, and then add the rest of the flour and a pinch of salt, fold until you have a dough.

*Cover the bowl with a towel and let rest for 90 minutes. I know it seems like a lot of time but go catch up on your reading or make something to eat the bread with during this time.
*Add a liberal amount of flour onto a flat space like your kitchen counter and gently tug the dough from the bowl. Sprinkle more flour on top and then cut the dough in half.
*Twist the bread loaves slightly (optional) and lay out on a baking sheet.
*Pre-heat oven to 240C/450F

*Bake it for 25 minutes, but we have an electric oven so we check it at 15 minutes and go from there.
Make this easy vegan bread recipe just to get your carb fix, to make sandwiches or to dip into your favorite vegan soup recipe.
