Happy Saturday everyone! Today I have something exciting to share with you.

But first…

Thank you Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! It’s been such a treat getting to know you and your happy life covering events in NJ!

Get to know Maryanne on her blog: https://maryannemistretta.wordpress.com/

Here are the rules for The Sunshine Blogger Award:

*Display the award’s official logo somewhere on your blog.
*Thank the person who nominated you.
*Provide a link to your nominator’s blog.
*Answer your nominators’ questions.
*Nominate up to 11 bloggers.
*Ask your nominees 11 questions.
*Notify your nominees by commenting on at least one of their blog posts.

…onto Maryanne’s questions!

What is your work-out routine?

I work out every other day, usually two strength training days and one cardio, which is either dance (Shine Dance Fitness, baby!) or cardio kickboxing (Boxing & Bubbles). And now that it’s warm I get a day of tennis for fun, the exercise is just a bonus!

What was the most breath-taking natural phenomena you’ve ever seen?

Natural phenomenon? Well I travel a lot and that’s a hard question but I have two that come to mind. The first is the Vulcanii Noroioși Pâclele Mari, which are mud volcanoes in Romania. Such a cool place. The other is the Slănic salt mines. There’s a long ride underground but once you get down there, amazing!

Slanic Salt Mines

Do you have pets?

No. I used to have a turtle Bob Dylan Thomas, but I gifted him to a neighbor kid when I left Los Angeles.

What’s the best April Fool’s joke someone pulled on you?

My stats professor telling us that we didn’t have to do the statistical models to pass the midterm! I wanted it so bad but alas, it was all a heartless lie April Fool’s joke.

What celebrity/musician death hit you the hardest?

Kurt Cobain. I had just turned 14 when he died and I was obsessed with him, his music and his looks (yeah I was/am a hardcore grunge girl) and I bawled like a baby. Even now my breath hitches when I think about it. 😦

Do you believe in the afterlife?

Nope.

Do you keep diaries?

Not anymore. I have stacks of diaries from age seven to about twenty-five. Now I have a Doogie Howser style digital journal. I move and travel a lot and it’s much easier, not to mention lighter.

What’s your favorite movie from the 1980s?

It’s a tie between Purple Rain and The Breakfast Club. Really I love all those Brat Pack movies these are the two I can (and have) watch thousands of times.

What’s your favorite natural healing method?

Does soup count? Because the answer is soup. If I even feel an inkling of sickness I break out the big pot and add tons of colorful veggies, loads of garlic and ginger and turmeric.

For my body, I’d say stretching. It does such wonders for the body and the mind.

Wow, thanks so much for accepting and answering the questions. That salt mine is breath-taking, thanks for sharing. And Kurt Cobain was such a beautiful man. I loved Nirvana too and it hit me hard when he died.

It was very beautiful down there. I’d never been to a salt mine before, never even considered them and I was pleasantly surprised.

The photo of the salt mine is amazing! and I agree with stretching… I love when you start a stretching routine and its hard and you can’t quite get the full stretch but 20 minutes later you are warmed up and the early stretches feel less hard or dare I say… easier.

Oh I absolutely love it when a stretch I couldn’t do starts getting easier and easier. Suddenly I’m strutting around and calling myself a pro or a yogi haha
